Jr. Soldier Class
Monday's from 6:00 - 7:00 pm
Young people may be enrolled as junior soldiers any time after one month from the date of their initial decision for Christ. The minimum age is seven. Young people who take this important step have accepted Jesus as their friend and Savior and because of this have decided to follow him as Junior Soldiers in The Salvation Army. There is a preparation course that the young people work through giving the basics in Christian truths and Salvation Army principals and practice. They learn the meanings of, for example, the colors of The Salvation Army Flag, why we have a Mercy Seat or Penitent Form. A Study of "The Crest is included in the course as well as some important bible verses that they encouraged to learn by heart. When the Young Peoples Sergeant Major and the Commanding Officer of the Corps that the recruit attends are satisfied that the young person has understood what it means to be a Junior Soldier and has completed the course, an enrolment is arranged to be included in a Sunday meeting at the Salvation Army Corps.
